“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.” — Psalm 103:2-4
The Christ Church prayer ministry prays for healing for anyone seeking prayer for healing in body, mind, or spirit. Jesus called his disciples to “lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” We believe God’s power to heal is the same yesterday today and forever through Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit at work in those who follow Him. Our Prayer Ministers have been trained through the training program of The Order of St. Luke, through the ministry and writing of Francis McNutt, and through other seminary and ministry experiences. They also function under the oversite of our priest. We offer prayer for healing on Sunday mornings during the 10:30 service at the Communion rail or at standing stations. We also offer prayer on Wednesdays and during our noon service of Holy Eucharist and Healing. Private, confidential times of prayer can be arranged by contacting Katy at Katytosh@me.com or Virgil at Virgilplaw@aol.com.
While we minister within the faith and practice of the Episcopal Church, our ministry is for all who call on the name of the Lord and we are happy to pray with anyone need.
Our practice is the listen, love, and pray. We listen carefully to each of our prayer recipients, knowing that just listening to people tell their stories, loving them just as they are, and allowing the Holy Spirit to flow through us can be a significant part of the healing process.
The healing prayer ministry is ecumenical in scope. We follow the teaching of Holy Scripture and the Book of Common Prayer, and Scripture is an integral part of our prayer ministry.
