Endowments

Christ Church has five endowment funds. These are funds which are invested in order to grow and provide sustained income for Christ Church and its ministries. Our endowment funds are managed by the Community Foundation of Central Georgia (CFCG).  Below is a recording of a presentation given by Julia Wood, Senior Vice President of Development & Donor Services at the Community Foundation about CFCG, Christ Church’s endowments, and CFCG’s management of them.

Giving to the Endowments

Any withdrawals from the endowments have an annual cap of 4.5% to allow for growth over time. It is only taken if needed in that particular year. Having this financial support protects against the church having to trim staff or ministries that are a vital part of keeping the parish vibrant and strong.

General Endowment Fund

This endowment covers the general operating needs of the parish and can be used wherever it is most needed.

Frieda May Fund

This fund is for capital expenses only. It is used for the upkeep of our historic buildings to avoid having any deferred maintenance.

Julia Jones Fund

This fund is used to supplement the Outreach budget. We will be taking the full 4.5% of this fund every year to insure our Outreach support is as strong as possible as we seek to minister to those in need in the community.

Housing Fund

This fund was set up to provide support for the portion of the clergy salary dedicated to housing, freeing up funds in the budget for other needs. It also helps ensure the ability to always be able to support full time clergy in the future.

Christian Education Fund

Having a Children’s Minister on staff has been a vital part of having a strong ministry to young families. This endowment will help support that ministry in the future.
