August Recap:
Welcome home! In August we began our 2026–2027 program year.
On August 9, we prepared for the new school year with the Blessing of the Backpacks. We prayed for all the students and teachers in our parish and community, blessed everyone’s backpacks, and gave new Bibles to the 3rd and 9th graders.
On August 16, we had our official Kick Off Sunday with a parish breakfast and ministry fair. The Great Hall was filled with representatives from every ministry showing how much is going on at Christ Church.
On August 23, we had our first day of Sunday school. The Parish House was filled with Sunday school classes for all ages, from children to adults. During the 10:30 service, we had two members be commissioned as healing prayer ministers after completing their training with the Order of St. Luke. Then, after the service, we had a party in the Great Hall to celebrate our Sexton Robert Hubbard, who has been at Christ Church for 30 years! There was a huge crowd who came to show Robert just how much we love him. That evening, we started our new Sunday Evenings at Christ Church. On Sundays, we are meeting in the Great Hall for a parish supper, then a variety of formation classes for children, youth, and adults, and coming back together for a Compline service in the Church. Over 100 people came for the first night!
