Adult Christian Formation
Christian formation is the lifelong process of growing in our relationship with God, self, others, and all creation. Every experience in our lives can provide us with the opportunity to express our faith; the challenge we face is recognizing these opportunities and learning ways to live a sometimes countercultural life in a secular world.
Spiritual formation breathes life and renewal into our relationship with God. As followers of Jesus, we seek ways to deepen our faith and to grow in love. Here are Christ Church we have a variety of offering for Adults, such as Sunday morning and weekday Bible studies, small group studies for women and men, Episcopal Church Women (ECW), the Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK), the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, the Order of St. Luke, and many more. “Loving Creator, draw us ever closer to You at the very center of our souls.” – Draw the Circle Wider
Sundays at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom
At the heart of our current moment lies a universal yearning, not to be happy or respected so much as enough–what religions call “righteous”. We look to all sorts of everyday activities–from eating and parenting to dating and voting–for identity, purpose and meaning. This class will bring us to a fresh appreciation for the grace of God in all its countercultural wonder.
“In this engaging, enjoyable book, you will find rest from the relentless effort to be enough and encounter Jesus, who truly loves you as you are.” –Michael Curry
Be the Bridge
Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom
Join Dr. Matt Harper, and others, as we read and discuss Be the Bridge: Pursuing God’s Heart for Racial Reconciliation. In this perspective-shifting book, Latasha Morrison shows how you can participate in the incredible work of racial reconciliation and replicate it in your own community. With conviction and grace, she examines the historical complexities of racism. She expertly applies biblical principles, such as lamentation, confession, and forgiveness, to lay the framework for restoration. The book is easy to read and Matt will be leading us in discussion questions that will help us to live out the principles of the book in our parish and community.
